NAFMNP hosts an annual conference that brings together federal, state, and local leaders, market managers, farmers, and technology partners to strengthen and modernize nutrition incentive and farmers market programs across the country.
These conferences serve as a national forum to:
- Foster collaboration among stakeholders advancing access to local foods for federal nutrition programs participants.
- Share updates from USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) on the Farmers Market Nutrition Programs (FMNP and SFMNP).
- Highlight state program innovations, success stories, and operational challenges.
- Provide training and technical assistance for administering federal nutrition programs.
- Showcase emerging technology for electronic benefit transactions and data systems (e.g., eFMNP, eWIC, eIncentives, etc.).

2021 – Virtual
Focused on adapting nutrition programs during the pandemic, transitioning to online formats, and sharing strategies for remote program management.
Concentrated on electronic benefit delivery (eFMNP) and preparing states for future implementation, with USDA and vendor-led discussions on modernization.
Theme: “Seeds of Change — Cultivation Meets Innovation.”
Explored new approaches to FMNP and SFMNP administration, with special attention to technology adoption and program equity.

Emphasized collaboration between state agencies, farmers, and federal partners, and explored modernization of benefit systems.
