Welcome to NAFMNP
National Association of Farmers’ Market Nutrition Programs
Cultivating opportunities for consumers to buy fresh produce from local growers.
The National Association of Farmers’ Market Nutrition Programs is a non-profit
corporation founded in 1992. It is the nation’s only organization that
links States, the District of Columbia, Indian Tribal Organizations,
Territories and others with a stake in USDA’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition
Programs (including local fruit and vegetable growers and low-income families
and seniors) with a shared mission.
USDA’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Programs. Through two federal
programs, checks or coupons are provided to eligible WIC families and seniors
to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. (For the Senior FMNP,
honey is also an eligible food). Both programs expand the awareness, use
of and sales at farmers’ markets, roadside stands and/or community supported
agriculture farms.
-
The WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) is associated with the
Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) was piloted in 2001 and
benefits low-income seniors.
